Dubbed as Prime Cash, the program seeks to offer safe access to banking services to people with limited or no access to banking services in both rural and urban areas in the country.

In a bid to reinforce its strategy, DCSL has established Dipon Group-ePay (DG-ePay) Service Points at major public places throughout the country, which allows people to register themselves and open an account at any of the service points.

Embedded with a new software application and provided through partner Instrumental Clique (IC), the Gemalto smart cards securely stores the holder’s facial image and fingerprint data captured upon enrolment and a customer’s transactions are validated using biometric authentication.

DCSL, which has already delivered 200,000 cards to users, said that the new technology provides daily life financial services, such as account opening, deposit, withdrawal, transfer, loan repayment and remittances.

IC has a market share of nearly 40% for supply of bank cards in Bangladesh.
