First New York Securities, a diversified global proprietary trading firm, has launched an effort to attract proprietary traders in the industry. First New York currently has more than 200 traders across various asset classes including domestic and international equities, macro rates, foreign exchange, energy, commodities, fixed income, derivatives and municipals.
First New York intends to grow each of its business lines by strategically hiring traders who have demonstrated considerable success. Coordinating the recruiting effort is Danielle O’Hare, who recently joined the firm from BNP Paribas.
For the past seven years, Ms O’Hare served on the management committee and as a director in BNP Paribas’ capital markets division where she implemented comprehensive recruiting and human resource services to significantly grow that platform.
Donald Erenberg, managing member of First New York Securities, said: “First New York has created a merit-based, technologically advanced platform that the top traders in the industry find extremely compelling. We intend to attract and engage the best professionals to join our cadre of elite traders.”
Ms O’Hare said: “First New York is a great home for the industry’s best traders. Our entrepreneurial culture and robust capital base is a perfect fit for innovative and successful traders.”
