First Michigan Bank has appointed David Provost as chairman of the board of directors. Mr Provost will also retain his CEO title. He has joined First Michigan Bank in 2008 as CEO. He had been chairman and CEO of The PrivateBank, Michigan, which is a subsidiary of PrivateBancorp. Mr Provost had also served on the board of directors for the bank.

According to First Michigan Bank, Mr Provost has co-founded Bloomfield Hills Bancorp. and its subsidiary, The Private Bank in 1989, where he served as president and chief executive officer of Bloomfield Hills Bancorp, and chairman and chief executive officer of The Private Bank until its acquisition by PrivateBancorp in June 2005.

Prior to this role at The Private Bank, Mr Provost served 13 years in various capacities at Manufacturers National Bank of Detroit and Manufacturers National Bank of Novi.
