The 15-member council provides guidance to the board and staff on housing needs and programs that will enhance the banks affordable housing and economic development programs in its Fifth District territory of Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee.

The five members of the advisory council include Robert Brewster, George Brown, Steven Gladman, Alvin Nance and Deborah Williams. Robert Brewster is the executive director of Brighton Center and Brighton Properties and he has served Brighton since 1969 in guiding and developing the organization from a small neighborhood center to a distinguished housing developer and social services provider with more than 170 staff and four subsidiary organizations.

George Brown is the executive director of Clermont Senior Services, Batavia, Ohio and he has devoted his professional career to the needs of senior adults, including the development of nearly 180 units of affordable housing. Steven Gladman is president of The Affordable Housing Trust for Columbus and Franklin County, Columbus, Ohio. Mr Gladman, who has served in his current position since October 2006, is recognized for his advocacy work in addressing inequities in the insurance and property valuation of affordable rental housing.

Alvin Nance is the president and CEO of Knox Community Development, Knoxville, Tennessee. Mr Nance has served with many business, civic and service organizations. Deborah Williams is the executive director of Housing Assistance and Development Services. Ms Williams joined the organization as executive director in December 2005.
