Marc Autheman will succeed Sir Nigel Wicks on 1 January 2013 after his retirement as chairman of both the Euroclear plc and Euroclear SA/NV Boards.
Autheman will become deputy chairman of both Euroclear Boards with immediate effect and will share the position with Jean-Jacques Verdickt.
Since 2002, Sir Nigel Wicks served as deputy chairman and then moved on to become chairman of the Boards in August 2006.
Commenting on the Board’s election of Autheman, Sir Nigel Wicks said: "With valuable finance experience, the Board and Euroclear clients will find a highly respected and knowledgeable professional who will provide strong leadership at the helm of Euroclear."
