Scandinavian bank Nordea, and EDB have signed a contract for delivery of IT solutions and operations of Nordea’ 500 ATMs in Denmark. EDB will help in Nordea’ project for the monitoring of current machine network, upgrade of hardware and communication, and deployment of the new software solution.

EDBs solutions help Nordea achieve scale advantages by tying the new contract to the existing leveranseavtale in Norway. The solutions are developed and managed by EDBs Center in Trondheim.

Wiljar Nesse, Executive Vice President of Finance, EDB, said: “The agreement with Nordea is of great strategic importance to the EDB. We get a foothold in Denmark, a very exciting market for EDBs solutions to banking and finance sector, and we are now established with deliveries for ATM area throughout the Nordic market, in addition to the United Kingdom.”

The services will be available for Nordea’s customers during the second half of 2009. The agreement runs until the end of 2012, with a rolling one-year extension.
