The Dreyfus, part of The Bank of New York Mellon Asset Management, has introduced Dreyfus Brazil Equity Fund. Dreyfus Brazil equity fund seeks long-term capital growth by investing at least 80% of its assets in equity securities of companies that have their registered office in Brazil, whose principal trading market is in Brazil or that have a majority of their assets, or profits derived from businesses, investments or sales, in Brazil.

BNY Mellon ARX constructs the fund’s portfolio through a combination of quantitative and fundamental bottom-up research, and an understanding of local/regional macroeconomic trends. Rogerio Poppe and Bruno de Godoy Garcia serve as the fund’s co-primary portfolio managers.

Phil Maisano, vice chairman and chief investment officer of Dreyfus and chief investment strategist of BNY Mellon Asset Management, said: “Focused solely on Brazil with ‘boots on the ground’ active Brazil portfolio management, Dreyfus Brazil Equity Fund will seek to capture the Brazilian growth story.”
