Deutsche Securities (DSI) has announced a number of appointments to its global markets platform, further strengthening its equity sales and trading capabilities. Reportedly, in equity sales, following the internal appointment of Thomas Tynan, managing director, as head of cash equity distribution on August 13, 2009.

Reportedly, DSI appointed Keiji Ikeda as a managing director and international sales trader on September 9, and in its fundamental equity sales team appointed Thomas McDevitt on September 30 as a director, and will appoint Jason Block on October 27 as a vice president.

In equity trading, DSI appointed Christopher Peck as a director and head of equity trading and Yu Ishihara as a vice president and flow derivatives trader on August 1, 2009 and September 26, respectively, and will appoint Clay Kinney as a director and special situations trader on October 26.

Tom Tynan joined Deutsche Bank Group in December 1996 and has 16 years of experience in the equity markets, of which 14 have been in Japanese equities.

Keiji Ikeda was formerly a managing director and head of client trading at Morgan Stanley Japan Securities from October 2007, with responsibility for international and domestic cash, program, derivatives and agency equity trading. Mr. Ikeda has 25 years of experience in Japanese equities.

Thomas McDevitt joined from Merrill Lynch Japan Securities, where he was most recently director for Yen equity sales following a 15 year career with the firm.

Christopher Peck was formerly with DSI as a director and sales trader covering large institutions and hedge funds between 2001-2005, and returns after two years with Lehman Brothers Japan as head of Japan cash trading.

Yu Ishihara brings to DSI four years of experience in equity derivatives trading with UBS Securities Japan, with experience of index derivative product risk management and market making. Clay Kinney was formerly head of capital markets at Asia Pacific Land (Japan) from 2007.
