As part of the group’s strategy on succession planning and leadership development, Maybank has announced the appointment of Dato’ Aminuddin Md Desa, previously the CEO/director of Mayban Fortis Holdings Berhad as well as the head of insurance and Takaful business of the group, as CFO designate effective December 1, 2007 until January 30, 2008. He will assume the position of CFO and as an executive director of Maybank from January 31, 2008.
Mr Hussein joined the group in 1977 and has worked in several capacities within the group including as head of corporate banking, commercial banking, Malaysian operations and managing director of Aseambankers Malaysia Berhad. Mr Desa was previously CEO of Takaful Nasional. He holds a diploma in accountancy and advanced diploma in business studies from UiTM.
