Jewell-Tait is replacing Ray McGregor, who is moving to Singapore with Credit Suisse.

In his new role, Jewell-Tait will be based in Sydney and will report to David Livingstone, chief executive of Australia, and Marcel Kreis, head of private banking for Asia-Pacific.

Most recently, Jewell-Tait was head of investment advisory and distribution at Caledonia Investments.

Prior to this, Jewell-Tait was executive general manager and head of the private client services division at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

Before joining Commonwealth Bank of Australia, he was associated with Macquarie Bank for 25 years, including six years as the chairman for Western Australia.
