Mr Laage will assume responsibility with effect from March 1, 2010 for the division comprising the regional banks, LCL, international retail banking and payment systems and services.

He joined Credit Agricole de la Charente in 1978 where he held several positions, including director of lending and director of the corporate and professionals market. In 1990, he moved to Credit Agricole du Loiret as deputy CEO. During 1995, he was appointed as CEO of Credit Agricole de la Sarthe, then from 2000 of Credit Agricole de l’Anjou et du Maine.

Since 2006, Mr Laage has been a director and member of the strategy committee of Credit Agricole and deputy secretary general of Federation Nationale du Credit Agricole. He was chairman of John Deere Credit from 2003 to 2008.

Mr Hocher, who was appointed as deputy CEO in 2008, will oversee with effect from March 1, the division comprising the group’s specialised business lines (CIB, asset management, insurance, specialised financial services, private banking and property).

After spending the early part of his career at the ministry of agriculture and the Treasury, Mr Hocher joined Federation Nationale du Credit Agricole (FNCA) in 1989 as director of banking, then CEO from 1997. In 2001, he was named CEO of the Charente Maritim-Deux Sevres Regional Bank.

During 2006, Mr Hocher became director of Credit Agricole Assurances, and CEO of Predica, the group’s life insurer. In May 2008, he was appointed as head of specialised financial services. Since 2008, he has also been joint deputy CEO in charge of the development of regional banks, payment systems and insurance division.

Mr Mathieu, who was recently appointed as CEO, will assume responsibility from April 1, for the financial and strategic steering division (finances, human resources, information systems, strategy and economic research).

Mr Mathieu began his career with Credit Agricole in 1983, starting at the Caisse Regionale du Gard, where he was an analyst then in charge of legal affairs. In 1990, he was appointed commitments director before joining the Caisse Regionale du Midi as deputy CEO in 1995. He was appointed CEO of the Caisse Regionale du Gard in 1999 and also of the Caisse Regionale du Midi in 2005, ahead of the merger of these two regional banks. The merger was completed in 2007, creating the Caisse Regionale du Languedoc, with Michel Mathieu as its CEO.

Mr Mathieu has been a director of Credit Agricole since 2008. He is a director of Banco Popolare Friuladria. He is also a member of the Bureau Federal de la Federation Nationale du Credit Agricole (FNCA).
