Chew Soon Gek has joined Credit Suisse as head of strategy and economic research Asia Pacific for Private Banking.
In her new role, she is responsible for Credit Suisse’s cross asset class portfolio strategy and macroeconomic research in Asia Pacific.
Based in Singapore, she will report to Fan Cheuk Wan, head of research Asia Pacific for private banking.
Wan said that Gek brings with her 24 years’ investment experience in strategy, portfolio management and investment advisory.
"Soon Gek will enhance our ability to service our Private Banking clients and support our relationship managers in delivering outstanding investment solutions,"Wan said.
Gek joined Credit Suisse from Clariden Leu where she was the head of portfolio management and investment strategy Asia from 2009.
The bank also revealed that Kum Soek Ching has rejoined the firm as head of Southeast Asia Equity Research.
Based in Singapore, Ching will lead the Southeast Asia equity research unit covering the ASEAN markets and will report to Gek.
