Embedded with Europay, MasterCard and Visa (EMV) microchip, the new card enables users to shop at any place in the world, where chip card terminals are being used and Visa cards accepted.
In order to reduce any possibility of duplication, the card is equipped with encrypted data which is more difficult to counterfeit if the card is lost or stolen.
Commerce Bank consumer card products director Carl Bradbury said the new card provides greater acceptance, enhanced security, and overall increased peace of mindto customers.
It also contains necessary elements to deliver extra layer of security for regular purchases in stores as well as those made at unattended terminals including automated ticket dispensers.
Before processing, the microchip-fitted card stores and generates the information required to authenticate, authorize and process transactions, according to the bank.
As a subsidiary of Commerce Bancshares, the bank delivers various financial services, such as business and personal banking, wealth management, financial planning, and investments through its affiliated companies.
