Citibank Philippines has launched Citi Mobile Banking (CMB), a browser-based mobile banking solution. It allows registered clients to access Citibank’s online banking site from their mobile phones to check their account information, pay bills and transfer money without downloading any new application in their devices. It is automatically accessible to all current Citibank Online users.

However, current non-online users simply need to register for their online account on a computer and they can immediately access the Citi Mobile Banking.

The company has reported that this CMB is the result of collaboration between Citi and its affiliate, Mobile Money Ventures. CMB utilizes dual-factor authentication. In addition, transactions are encrypted and no financial information is stored on the mobile device.

Sanjiv Vohra, Country Head and Citi Country Officer for the Philippines, said: “Citibank is proud to launch this new and innovative financial services offering for our clients.”

Our clients are increasingly dependent on their mobile devices for their everyday life. With Citi’s latest solution, they can now incorporate financial management on their mobile phones, accessing their credit card and bank accounts and conducting a range of financial transactions conveniently and securely regardless of time and location,” he added.
