Reporting to Ebru Pakcan, Citi’s global head of payments, he will oversee the continued growth, development and transformation of this global business.

Managing complex and sophisticated needs of the bank’s clients in the financial institutions segment, he will develop strategies and implement plans to satisfy their business needs.

Prior to this, Sam was working with Citi Transaction Services in Australia for eight years and managed various divisions during the period including product management, client sales management, public sector and the bank services group.

Most recently, he directed the treasury & trade solutions business for Australia and New Zealand, with responsibility of cash management, trade services and trade finance offerings.

He has also led the Bank Services Group from its inception in Australia and New Zealand in 2008, and assisted to develop a franchise and deliver growth in clearing and the FI payments segment.

Having started his career with Westpac Banking in 1993 before moving into transactional banking, he oversaw the Australian Dollar Clearing business and Network Management function.

The transaction services, is a division of the US bank’s institutional clients group, which delivers integrated cash management, trade, and securities and fund services to multinational corporations, financial institutions and public sector organizations.
