Covering global equity lending, global fixed income lending and multi-currency cash reinvestment, the newly debuted desk will be a part of an expanded Europe, Middle-East and Africa (EMEA) securities lending trading team.

In line with this expansion, EMEA securities finance trading head Gareth Mitchell will relocate from London to Dublin and continue spearheading the integrated EMEA trading desk.

Citi global securities finance head David Martocci said that the company aims to enhance its existing OpenLend capabilities to incorporate a securities lending trading desk in the country.

OpenLend, a part of Citi’s OpenInvestor investment services systems, is an open architecture securities lending technology that helps clients achieve their performance objectives based on the company’s global presence, risk management controls and trading strategies.

Citi OpenInvestor delivers middle office, fund services, custody, investing and financing systems to institutional, alternative and wealth managers as per their challenges and requirements.

Having trading since 1965 in Ireland, Citi employs more than 2,200 people in Dublin as well as Waterford and provides a number of financial services including transaction services, investment banking services and global markets products.
