Iraq desk, based in Amman, Jordan, will be lead by Dennis Flannery, who has held senior positions in both the public and private sectors in his 39 year career.

Prior to this role, Flannery was the Financial Attache at the US Embassy in Baghdad.

He also worked at various global entities such as the World Bank and Bank of America and built a network of contacts among senior government officials and banking executives globally.

Citi’s capabilities include investment banking, capital markets origination, equity sales & distribution businesses, global transactions services, equity research, and global Islamic banking serving the MENA region.

Citi CEO for Jordan and Iraq Mayank Malik said that Dennis is an important addition to Citi’s senior team in the region given his expertise and wide network of connections.

"We believe that setting up an Iraq Desk will enable us to better attune to the banking needs of key clients and to facilitate cross-border activities with Multinationals, Financial Institutions and Public Sector entities," Malik said.
