Chase says that, as a result of the acquisition, more than 700,000 consumers and small businesses in the New York Tri-State area now have five times as many ATMs for fee-free cash withdrawals.

The former Bank of New York customers now can withdraw cash and check account balances without a usage fee at more than 2,200 ATMs, including Duane Reade locations, in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. The combined national network includes more than 8,300 ATMs.

In turn, existing Chase customers gain fee-free access to 400 more ATMs – which will carry the Bank of New York brand until spring – primarily in New York’s northern suburbs, Long Island and New Jersey.

Meanwhile, Chase has also added 339 branch locations to its New York network. The expanded offering follows the completion at the start of October of Chase’s purchase of Bank of New York’s consumer, small-business and middle-market banking businesses.
