Headquartered in Rockville, Capital Bank with $420m of assets said that the new tool will eliminate the need of third party vendor to process its accounts, and the same will be carried out by Fiserv.

The bank has also picked up a comprehensive suite of Fiserv solutions including Consumer and Commercial Credit Full Service for credit card management, Retail Online and Business Online for online banking, Mobiliti for mobile banking, AccountCreate for online account opening, CheckFree RXP for retail and small business bill payment and Popmoney for person-to-person payments.

Capital Bank chief financial officer Filip Feller said Capital Bank sought a technology provider that could provide the bank with the tools to help expand its customer base beyond its geographic location.

"Fiserv thinks strategically about what’s next in the financial services industry and what banks and our customers will need and want going forward," Feller said.

The solution provider will assist the bank to integrate the new credit card management system with the Premier core, which will upgrade and improve the bank’s information base and internal controls.

Fiserv claims that its banking product suite will reduce or eliminate the need for customers to visit a branch, helping Capital Bank in its mission to minimize the bank’s carbon footprint.
