Under the terms of the MoU, both the Taiwanese and Malaysian exchanges will embark on a long term co-operation initiative to develop communication channels between both organisations to facilitate enhanced information sharing capabilities.

Additionally, the MoU also lays the foundation for both Bursa Malaysia and GreTai Securities Market to explore collaboration initiatives to benefit the capital markets in both the countries.

Dato’ Yusli Mohamed Yusoff, CEO of Bursa Malaysia, said: “I hope this partnership will lead to an active exchange of ideas and information aimed at addressing industry issues and challenges. At the same time, we will be able to learn from each others’ experiences in further developing human capital as well as technological competencies.”

Gordon Shuh Chen, chairman of GreTai Securities Market, said: “Through this MoU, we hope to establish a mutual working relationship where we could work hand-in-hand with Bursa Malaysia to create a win-win situation for both exchanges. I am certain that this collaboration will ultimately benefit both parties by building a complementary relationship in the long run.”
