The partnership will leverage more than 34 million subscribers in Germany to pay for digital and virtual goods and services using their existing wireless account, said Boku.

BOKU global carrier relations svp James Patmore said the firm is pleased to partner with Deutsche Telekom to provide an easy to use and high quality payments service to German consumers.

"Our merchants find significant value in the high conversion rate of mobile payments for online purchases – it’s much simpler than using a credit card or completing an ELV bank transfer," Patmore said.

Consumers can avail this facility by entering their phone number to checkout, and respond through SMS to confirm the payment; the charge appears on their wireless bill, claims the firm.

According to a study, Germans prefer to have a mobile payment option in electronic and mobile commerce, thus BOKU sees huge businesses opportunity in Germany, and the recent development is one step ahead in its strategy.
