In this newly created role, Malvey will lead a team responsible for capturing and researching investment trends, market activity and economics.

Malvey will focus on developing a global investment and market knowledge platform that will help capture and communicate the investment opinion and analysis from across the investment firms that comprise BNY Mellon Asset Management.

He will report to Curtis Arledge, vice chairman of BNY Mellon and CEO of its asset management business.

Earlier, Malvey served at Lehman Brothers, where he was managing director and chief global fixed-income strategist and he chaired the multi-asset investment strategy group and served on the company’s wealth management investment committee.

Arledge said Malvey’s extensive experience in financial markets and strong economics background will prove invaluable as BNY Mellon discuss the outlook on topics that are highly important to its investment management professionals and that are considered crucial by the clients.

"The BNY Mellon Center for Global Investment & Market Intelligence will harness the power of our investment platform and create a rich forum to evaluate market trends and the evolving investment landscape," Arledge said.
