The bank said Stephen Salemy, Greg Lantz and Anne Cameron will join its global equities and commodity derivatives group and will be based in New York, reporting to Luke Edwards.

Salemy will focus on equity relative value for BNP Paribas and provide leadership to the group’s growing strategy platform. He will join the bank from Rafferty Capital Markets where he produced research on the merger arbitrage, event driven, capital structure and equity derivatives investing space.

Stephen also spent 15 years at JP Morgan, primarily in the equity derivatives group, in addition to working at several private investment firms.

Lantz has more than 11 years of experience in the event-driven and risk arbitrage space and was most recently a senior analyst at Oppenheimer & Co where he helped co-found the sell-side, event-driven efforts.

Cameron will join BNP Paribas from JP Morgan’s equity research department where she spent the last two years focusing on oil and gas exploration and production.

According to the BNP Paribas, the expanded team will help the bank enhance its content offering to include equity relative value, cross-asset and convertible arbitrage, event driven and fundamental ideas in the energy space leveraging its tight alignment with commodities to provide unique insights for equity investors.

BNP Paribas head of Institutional Equity Sales in the Americas Chris Innes said the US Equities Strategy Team, along with the recent launch of corporate access, is part of the growth initiatives to increase our impact with institutional clients and is a vital step in the Americas in building our Global Equities brand.
