Barclays’ latest addition to the service means that customers can pay funds to existing or new beneficiaries that have been set up on online banking. Barclays said that an interface has been developed specifically for viewing over a mobile phone, making it easier for customers to do their banking whilst on the move.
Barclays claimed that its mobile services have been developed to operate on all of the main mobile platforms, which means that all customers including those with Apple, HTC, Nokia, Motorolla, Blackberry and all other internet-enabled mobile phones can access these services.
Sean Gilchrist, director of Barclays digital banking, said: “The growth of consumers using our mobile banking services has been phenomenal. We have delivered on our promise and continued to develop the facilities that customers tell us they need. We are taking the lead in the market with a dedicated mobile phone banking site, which is the most flexible way of evolving services for customers and our mobile service isn’t limited to a single mobile device.”
