The free security software offer is available to all Barclays online banking customers and is provided by internet security firm Kaspersky.
In addition, Barclays.mobi customers can also access a revamped site when accessing the internet through a web-enabled mobile phone, making banking easier and intuitive. Customers accessing online banking over a mobile phone will find their account balance, statements, make transfer between accounts and make payments outside of the bank.
Sean Gilchrist, director for electronic banking at Barclays, said: Barclays has offered customers security package of all online banks over the last two years and it’s important that customers protect their mobile phones in the same way they do their computers from all threats, by downloading this new software.
