The UK based lender said that the mobile banking application is available on its site at no cost, which will enable the bank’s personal and small business customers to view their balances and last 30 transactions, make transfers between accounts, pay bills and find branches or Barclays ATMs.
Using the new application, Barclaycard UK personal customers will be able to view their credit card balance and recent transactions and make a repayment off their last statement balance, claims Barclays.
Barclays Digital managing director Sean Gilchrist said the bank knows that application are proving really popular following the recent launch of Barclays Pingit, a simple way to send and receive money with just a mobile number, which has been downloaded over 900,000 times in its first four months.
"This launch is the next step in moving forward our already successful mobile banking service which has been used by over 0.5m customers to manage their accounts on the move. The simplicity of our new app is great news and makes the banking experience even easier and quicker for our customers," Gilchrist added.
Currently, the application is only available for Apple and Android phones, with plans to release on Blackberry very soon.
