McCormick and Scott will be based in London, while McCormick will report to Larry Kantor, head of research, Scott will report jointly to McCormick and Tim Whittaker, head of EMEA equity research.

Kantor said that the appointment of McCormick and Scott will enable the company to enhance its position as a leader in cross-asset content.

"With their leadership and expertise, we are confident we will be able to further enrich the research offering that we provide to our clients and add to the first-class franchise we have already built."

McCormick will be accountable to drive the firm’s macro and asset allocation strategy globally.

Prior to joining Barclays, he was working with the institutional investment company COMAC, as the chief strategist to manage all aspects of the investment process.

Before that, McCormick served as the head of European fixed income research and global head of macro strategy at Nomura. Having subtle expertise in emerging markets research, he also spearheaded FX and local markets strategy at Citigroup and Lehman Brothers, previously.

With 17 years of experience as an investment strategist at Lehman Brothers and most recently at Nomura, Scott will work closely with the firm’s regional equity strategy teams and with McCormick to provide an integrated global equity and cross-asset strategy view.
