In his new role, Beecham will lead the firms development of simple, great value, insurance and investments products.
He will report into Paul McNamara, managing director of Barclays Insurance and Investments.
McNamara said Greg is taking up this new role, which comes at a crucial point in the transformation of our UK Retail Business.
"Whether it is through our 1,700 branches, strong online presence or telephony service, this new appointment will ensure Barclays consistently delivers products that meet the high standards customers have come to expect,"McNamara said.
Barclays offers a range of insurance products including home, motor, life, student possessions, travel insurance, health insurance, business and income insurance, offered as stand alone products and in some cases as a value added service with a current account.
