Designed to automatically switch among three possible power sources including solar panel, alternating current (AC) grid and internal battery, the new machine is equipped with an intelligent power management system.
"This machine is specifically designed to meet the increasing demand for a robust self-service terminal in urban and rural areas of India," the company said.
The new ATM consumes nearly 40% less energy than the previous generation of cash dispensers, as it uses alternative power sources including solar panels and an AC grid, claims the technology company.
Having an integrated four-hour battery backup for enhanced ATM reliability, the self-service terminal is fitted with an optional single-note acceptor (SNA), which allows small-volume currency deposits and bill payments at the ATM.
Additional features of the ATM include Europay, MasterCard and Visa (EMV) card reader, biometric technology and provision for dual security cameras.
The security features assist in curbing global card fraud and digital security threats while meeting the latest National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) regulatory requirements.
