Under this agreement, EDB ErgoGroup will take over responsibility for operating the ATMs belonging to the five banks: Danske Bank, Handelsbanken, Nordea, SEB and Swedbank.

Bankernas Automatbolag will purchase services relating to the operation of the ATMs on behalf of the five banks.

EDB ErgoGroup will continue to use the banks’ current sub-contract suppliers of technical services and communication networks.

EDB ErgoGroup said it will deliver standardized services for the banks’ ATMs, which includes administration, software management, transaction processing, settlement and operational monitoring.

A combined transition project will make all 2,800 ATMs part of EDB ErgoGroup’s service concept for ATMs over the course of 2012.

Bankernas Automatbolag managing director Stefan Bergelind said that through this collaboration between Bankernas Automatbolag and EDB ErgoGroup, the company can offer Swedish banks and other card issuers a unified infrastructure for ATMs and realize synergy benefits by purchasing standardized services.

"The contract also gives the company access to certificated solutions and leading expertise in the payments area," Nesse said.

EDB ErgoGroup also delivers operating services for minibanks in Sweden, Denmark and Finland. In total, EDB ErgoGroup will now provide services for 3,200 of the 3,800 ATMs in use in Sweden.
