Bank of Smithtown, a subsidiary of Smithtown Bancorp, has opened its new branch in the city of New York. It is the bank’s 24th branch, and the fifth branch it has opened this year.

Reportedly, the bank plans to open four more new branches this year. The bank also has ten other branch projects in various stages of development, and expects most of those branches to be operational during 2010.

John Romano, executive vice president, Bank of Smithtown, said: “This new location will allow us to serve more consumers and small businesses in Huntington Township south of the Route 25A corridor.”
