The move will give customers added security when they bank online. The technology will be previewed at this week’s Money20/20 conference in Las Vegas.

Bank of America intends to integrate the security feature into its online banking authentication process in 2018.

The new solution is said to aggregate Intel Online Connect and Intel Software Guard Extensions with Bank of America's authentication ecosystem to improve security over passwords.

The new solution is available on seventh and eighth Intel Core processors.

Intel Online Connect technology, which will need biometric data, can be stored only on the user’s device and not on a public server or cloud.

Both firms will showcase Intel Online Connect technology at this week’s Money20/20 conference in Las Vegas.

Bank of America digital banking head Michelle Moore said: “As online and mobile banking usage continues to grow, we’re focused on implementing the latest technologies that will give our customers the best possible user experience.

Intel software and services group p vice president and platforms security division general manager Rick Echevarria said: “We are excited about the close collaboration between Intel and Bank of America using the latest Intel Core processors to bring biometric authentication to online banking for PC users.”
