The lender will upgrade its existing assortment of ATMs under a replacement project dealing with nearly 50% of its installed base of self-service systems.

The first self-service systems have already been installed and approximately 2,000 new CINEO systems are expected to be delivered to UniCredit branches by 2015, the lender said.

Besides ensuring system availability, Wincor Nixdorf will also be involved in the launch and implementation of the systems, based on the terms of the agreement.

The services include second line maintenance for rapid recovery in case of faults, regular maintenance of all self-service systems and preventive maintenance for systems with particularly high frequency of use.

A process to identify and screen systems with large volume of transactions has been set by Wincor Nixdorf and the Italian bank, so that it could take necessary actions to reduce the failure rates of the systems.
