Based from Chicago office, Stroker, will serve as a regional director, overseeing Baird’s wealth management offices in the central region, which includes Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and most of Illinois.

Previously, Stroker served at Morgan Stanley, overseeing more than 220 financial advisors in 10 branch offices managing $17bn in client assets. In his nearly 30 year career at Smith Barney, he held various roles with increasing responsibility since joining as financial consultant in 1983.

In other leadership changes made in the private wealth management team, Baird appointed John Mabee, managing director, as new vice chairman of private wealth management.

Matthew Curley, managing director, has been appointed as new national sales director, chief operating officer, with responsibility to ensure financial advisors have the tools, training and support they need to grow their business.

William Johnson, senior vice president, has been promoted to regional director, to oversee the eastern region. Earlier managing role of Johnson at Baird’s Lynchburg, Virginia, wealth management office will be replaced by Paul McWane, senior vice president, senior investment consultant.

Kimberly Thekan has been promoted to senior vice president, talent acquisition and integration, a role in which she will help lead the overall strategy for sourcing, recruitment and integration of talent.
