Associated Banc-Corp has appointed Philip Flynn as president, chief executive officer and director effective December 1, 2009. Mr Flynn will also serve as president, chief executive officer and director of Associated Bank, National Association. The company also announced that the board of directors elected William Hutchinson as its chairman effective December 1, 2009
William Hutchinson, lead independent director, said: “These two appointments will provide stability and ongoing strength to the leadership of the company.”
Mr Flynn replaces Mr Beideman, who announced his plans to retire from the company earlier this year. Mr Beideman will continue to serve as member of the board of directors and as chief executive officer of Associated Banc-Corp until December 1, 2009.
Mr Flynn will report directly to Associated Banc-Corp’s board of directors and his office will be located at the corporate headquarters in Green Bay. The company’s executive committee will report to Mr Flynn.
Prior to joining Associated Banc-Corp, Mr Flynn was with Union Bank, San Francisco, since 1980. He also served as vice chairman and chief operating officer of Union Bank since March 2005 and as director since 2004.
