The deal is a part of the Australian lender’s "Banking on Australia" multimillion upgrade ($1.53bn) initiatives to refurbish its whole banking operation, with latest technology and advancement.

According to the terms of the agreement, the bank will deploy 800 NCR SelfServ ATMs in branches, facilitating 24/7 banking access to many traditional teller services.

Developed on scalable deposit module (SDM), the new teller can accept, count and process cash and cheques simultaneously in one transaction, decreasing the time for a typical mixed deposit, claims the bank.

Under the terms of the deal, NCR will help the bank to migrate from its self-service software platform to NCR APTRA Activate, to enable more non-cash and web-based services as well as extends existing ATM maintenance agreement for a further five years.
