American Principle Bank has hired Mark Crawford as its new executive vice president and chief credit officer. Mr Crawford has over 25 years of experience. He held several industry positions in credit administration and risk management areas.

Mr Crawford was a senior executive vice president and chief risk officer for a financial institution in Texas. He has also worked for the US Treasury department and the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas in supervisory, policy, and training roles.

Thomas Beene, president and CEO of American Principle Bank, said: “Mark Crawford brings to the bank many years of experience and education in credit administration, underwriting, loan collection, regulatory compliance, asset review, and risk management. His background was thus an excellent fit for the bank’s previously open position of Chief Credit Officer.

“Mark will also play an important role as a key member of the bank’s executive management team, contributing his insight and experience to facilitating the bank’s continued growth and the advancement of our strategic plan.”

Eric Schwefler, chairman of the board of directors at American Principle Bank, said: “After a thorough position search, we are very excited to welcome Mark to San Luis Obispo and to American Principle Bank. His combination of skills in lending, collateral evaluation, and credit portfolio management rendered him a highly attractive candidate for joining the bank’s executive team.”
