As part of the multi-year contract, Gemalto will be delivering the complete, future-proof Ezio solution including authentication software, Ezio Club EMV card readers as well as consulting services.
In addition to generating One-Time-Passwords the Ezio Club reader is used to verify and sign transaction details, such as amount transferred and account credited.
Gemalto said that this added layer of ‘sign-what-you-see’ security feature ensures the authenticity of the internet banking session, whilst enhancing the user’s protection.
AIB Head of Payments and eChannel Development Diarmuid Hanrahan said that the Ezio solution flexibility enables the bank to evolve its eBanking security strategy over time with multiple strong authentication devices.
