He will take up his new post at the end of the year on the retirement of current AIB chief risk officer and group executive committee member, Shom Bhattacharya.
Mr Treble joined Allied Irish Banks (AIB) in 1982 as a trainee dealer in Allied Irish Investment Bank, London. He subsequently held posts as assistant treasurer; head of treasury, Britain; and general manager, capital markets, AIB London, before taking up his current role in Dublin as managing director, AIB global treasury in 2001.
