Emirates NBD (Emirates National Bank of Dubai) has signed a mobile banking service agreement with Etisalat, a facilities management provider, in the UAE – reported AME info.

The bank said that using the USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data), GSM mobile users can check their account balance, transfer funds, pay their credit card bills and make payments on the move. It further claimed that a secure anti-fraud system will be set into place.

Mohamed Al Falasi, Senior Vice President and Head of Direct Sales and Alternate Channels at Emirates NBD, said: “Emirates NBD is the first bank to sign a mobile banking service agreement with Etisalat in the UAE. With this new technology, we are offering our customers the latest payment methods and adding yet another advanced, creative and convenient service to our network of diverse banking channels.”

Abdulla Hashim, Vice President, Business Solutions, Etisalat, said: “Etisalat’s considerable expertise and knowledge in mobile payments will be a great asset for Emirates NBD in rolling out a comprehensive and convenient solution for its customers.”
