ABN Amro also stated that payments for purchases can be made, without have to fill in address details. The new makeover of the app includes features to support businesses.
Users can now transfer money to other Tikkie users without the need to receive payment request and the need to known the other user’s IBAN. The user can select the recipient from the Tikkie address book and go through the usual iDeal payment process. The recipient gets a message confirming the payment.
With this feature, users will no longer have to wait for someone else to send the payment request. The app will automatically recognize the other user’s telephone number and knows which account number to transfer the amount to.
The second feature that has been introduced is the ‘SuperSnelBetalen’ feature (express checkout) in webshops. While purchasing online, users generally have to fill in their personal details before checking out.
Tikkie’s new feature makes online purchases simpler. While placing an order, users can fill their address details, just once in Tikkie SuperSnelBetalen. From there on, the users buying from webstores supporting this feature can skip the addres for and user the Tikkie pay right away. The app will instruct the webstore, where to send the product.
ABN AMRO also claimed that businesses are now showing interest in Tikkie-type payment options for commercial use, with higher limits. And the bank has responded by adding features to the app, especially for businesses.
Small business can now send a Tikkie right on the customer’s doorstep. This revamped Tikkie portal will be going live later this month and businesses can easily send big batches of Tikkies to their customers.
Tikkie director Freek de Steenwinkel said: “These new features reaffirm Tikkie’s front runner status in mobile payments. With over 4 million users and 2,000 business clients in the Netherlands, Tikkie is better positioned than other payment apps to pioneer new ways of simplifying payment processes between consumers and businesses.
“Tikkie users starting up the app will soon discover a different layout from what they’re used to. Cleaner, with three easily recognisable buttons at the bottom of the screen: scan QR-code, Pay and Payment Request.”
