The office consists of staff of energy, commodities and transportation (ECT) with initial focus on commodities (agri and metals).

ABN AMRO ECT Managing Director Harris Antoniou said that reestablishing the Brazilian rep office is part of a wider initiative of the bank to its global ECT branch network.

The Netherlands banking group has also strengthened its team in Sao Paulo, to tap the potential commodities market in Brazil.

Fausto Caron has been appointed as head of commodities Brazil and brings with him almost 10 years of experience in commodities as well as in energy commodities.

Fausto will be joined by Victor Carneiro and Fabio Vernille who together will join the agri commodities team.

Both Victor and Fabio have experience in lending, capital markets and investment banking in the agricultural commodities field in Brazil.
