The source added that Swiss bank Vontobel may emerge as a potential bidder and final sale price could be in the range of CHF100m to CHF150m.

Report said ABN Amro declined to comment and that Vontobel wasn’t immediately available for comment.

At the end of the year 2010, ABN Amro’s private banking operations in Switzerland had over CHF14bn under management.

In 2009, ING Groep sold its Swiss private bank to Julius Baer for EUR344m.

Outside the Netherlands and Switzerland, ABN Amro private banking units have operations in 10 countries including France, Germany, and financial centers in Asia.
