According to the publication, the maximum limit of spending eligible for the cash back has been set at GBP1,000, which means that users can earn back a maximum of GBP50.

According to The Telegraph, Abbey has said that the proposed credit card is the first of many cash back deals it will be offering on its cards. The group’s credit card business is now managed though Santander, the Spanish bank that owns Abbey, after transferring the business over from MBNA.

As cited in The Telegraph, Roger Lovering, the managing director of Santander Cards, said: Once somebody becomes an Abbey credit card customer they can expect to see many more initiatives which offer similar benefits.
