PineBridge said that the fund will be invested in publicly announced merger and acquisition transactions and it will be managed by its managing director Lan Cai.
Cai has 15 years of equity and derivatives investment experience and joined PineBridge Investments in 2000.She has managed PineBridge’s Merger Arbitrage strategy for institutional clients since 2002.Prior to this, she served as director of Financial Product Research and Development at the CME Group.
PineBridge added that it is looking to expand into the growing ‘Newcits’ space, which have become a popular avenue for investors to gain access to alternative investments that are UCITS-compliant.
The PineBridge Merger Arbitrage Fund will join the PineBridge Global Funds umbrella, which is authorized by the Central Bank of Ireland.
