Hefner will also direct the risk asset reviews of potential bank acquisitions working closely with the management and lending groups in each of Carlile’s banks.
Hefner’s association with Carlile Bancshares’ founders, Tom Nichols and Don Cosby, began in 1981 at the Ford Bank Group.
Prior to joining Carlile Bancshares, Hefner worked as the president and COO of Citibank Texas, formed by Citibank’s acquisition of First American Bank.
Hefner served as EVP, chief lending officer and chief credit officer of First American, where he was responsible for developing and implementing lending and credit policies, assembling a statewide team of lending personnel, and managing all lending activity and credit administration functions of the bank.
Carlile Bancshares has acquired two Austin, Texas-based community banks and intends to grow both organically and through acquisitions.
