Features of the terminals include dial-up, Bluetooth and GSM, which will enable the bank to extend its electronic payment services to merchants in the hotel, restaurant, hospital and government sectors.

The Optimum M2100 wireless terminal is a compact, high-speed, battery-operated device that facilitates fast, secure point-of-sale transactions for restaurants, delivery services, car rental companies, sports stadiums, medical facilities, kiosks and other businesses that require non-stationary payment systems.

The card payment terminals were supplied by Alhamrani Universal Company, the distributor of Hypercom products in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. The banking group said that it selected Alhamrani Universal based on the advanced functionality of the Hypercom terminals as well as Alhamrani Universal’s high level of technical support, consultancy and training services.

This contract reinforces Hypercom’s strong position in the Middle East, giving us an excellent opportunity to build our already solid market share as the adoption of electronic payments continues to rise throughout the region, said Kazem Aminaee, senior vice president and managing director of Hypercom EMEA.
