KMC Infratech, incorporated in 2008, is the flagship company of KMC Constructions for all its existing and prospective road ‘build, operate and transfer’ assets.
KMC Infratech owns a portfolio of 10 such projects aggregating 5,000 lane km across India.
3i Asia managing director Anil Ahuja said KMC Infratech is well positioned to take advantage of the significant opportunity in the road sector in India.
"This investment allows us to partner with an infrastructure operator with a sound track record of constructing and operating road assets in the country," Ahuja said.
The $1.2bn 3i India Infrastructure Fund is building a portfolio of investments focused on power, road, ports and airports.
Since inception, the fund has invested in Adani Power, Soma Enterprises, Krishnapatnam Port Company and GVK Energy.
