Connor will be based in New York and will report to John Miller, head of the global industrials group. He will join the firm in July 2011.
At Barclays Capital, he will be responsible for overseeing and expanding the firm’s relationships with top transportation companies.
Connor will join Barclays Capital from Morgan Stanley where he served as a managing director and co-head of the transportation and infrastructure group, and was also a member of the investment banking management committee and the board of the Morgan Stanley Foundation.
During his 15 year tenure, he played a leading role in many of the sector’s IPOs, follow-on equity offerings, convertible and structured financings, as well as numerous strategic and M&A transactions.
Miller said that Connor’s vast experience as a trusted advisor to corporations worldwide will be highly valuable as the company partner with the clients.
