In his new role, Petrachi will be responsible for all clients served by Rothschild Bank in Zurich with assets over CHF25m, and in particular also family offices.
He will be based in Zurich, reporting to Thomas Pixner, head of private clients at Rothschild Bank Switzerland.
Petrachi, whose appointment is effective 1 October 2010, is currently co-head of ultra-high net worth clients for Zurich-based UBS for the past two years. He has worked there since 2005.
Prior to this, he spent several years as head of the equity derivative sales division at Lehman Brothers in Zurich, and held similar positions at Goldman Sachs in Zurich and London.
